Stephen Burnettis a professor of Religious Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is the author of From Christian Hebraism to Jewish Studies: Johannes Buxtorf (1564-1629) and Hebrew Learning in the Seventeenth-Century; (1996) and Christian Hebraism in the Reformation Era (1500-1660): Authors, Books, and the Transmission of Jewish Learning (2012). He co-edited Jews, Judaism and the Reformation in Sixteenth Century Germany with Dean P. Bell (2006). His current research focuses on Martin Luther’s anti-Jewish polemical works. He recently received a Humboldt Research Award.
